(24) "incarceration Brought Transformation" – by Rachelle Shadley

What has transpired in my life recently is the fruit of what was sown in my life twelve years ago during the year I was incarcerated to a state penitentiary for four counts of aggravated assault. While in prison I accepted the righteousness of Christ for the forgiveness of my sins, and He became my Savior.

This heart change has brought gratefulness, wisdom and light and has blossomed into a heart that is seeking after God and His righteousness. The love of the Lord expressed through others has increased my ability to choose what is right instead of choosing what is wrong and going toward the world’s ways. It feels so good to choose what is right, for the first time in my life when for so long, it felt so wrong to choose what was right.

God is showing me the fear and anxiety in my heart from my past. I have allowed the enemy to creep in and have that part of my mind and heart. As I walk daily with the Lord, He continually is revealing the root cause of my issues. In return, He frees me from it.

God is real and personal and He doesn't make mistakes. He chose me and I chose Him. Nothing in this life can take me away from the love of God. He will win every time. Victory is in Jesus!

Romans 8:38-39 - For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

I Peter 2:9 - But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

My dear friend…

Rachelle lives in Springdale, Arkansas. She has three grown children and four grandchildren. She enjoys sharing her testimony of her transformed life because of the truths in God’s Word that she learned while in prison.
